Interactive poetry workshops designed to inspire and fire up the poetic flame, to open both the novice and more practiced poet to participate in fun and engaging ways to create and revise poetry, as well as courses that look into the lives and writings of accomplished poets.

REVISIONING YOUR POEMS

We’ll be using various exercises and methods to turn poems upside down and inside out, mash them up and blow them
up to see what they really want to say.

What we learn from the art of others can be a guide and inspiration in our own creative endeavors. Each of us has a unique voice, "a bluebird in my heart" as Bukowski says of the voice within him. We’ll take the time to look a little closer, linger awhile, reflect and respond to what this poet is saying and how he chooses to say it.

Five Days

Read the chosen poets work and biographical material.
Discuss the poets style, subject matter, and effect on you.
Daily writing assignments relating to the work of the poet.
Share poems and feedback with fellow participants via email.
Personal responses from Hari Bhajan to each participant daily.

POEM A DAY

April 4-11, 2007

A madcap week of poems flying hither/thither. Push your
boundaries,get a little wild, take risks with no undesired
consequences. A safe space to play and explore your own
poetry and the poetry of fellow participants.

Seven Days
Maximum 8 poets
No Charge
Individuals may participate a maximum of twice per year.
Create a new poem every day and send to each participant.
Each participant receives and gives feedback about what worked,
what were the gems in the poem.
A suggested writing exercise sent mid-week.
Hari Bhajan participates as poet as well as providing feedback and guidance.

available for $75 during or at the conclusion of the five days.)
